This blue cotton top was actually a practice run of a pattern hack. I really love vintage patterns but they aren't always the easiest to coordinate, wear and enjoy. I also bought 1m of beautiful cotton tana from Liberties in London, a precious length of fabric that I just couldnt cut up with testing a pattern 1st.
So this easy cotton fabric used to form from skirt I made a while ago was the perfect scrap choice.

Introducing the beautiful pattern picture inspiration of Vintage Vogue V8789. Now this has top with the cutest row of shoulder buttons. I was a gonner to the pattern's charms immediately. Rather rose tinted glasses about it.
The only issue was do I really need another dress. Well with only 1m the answer can only be no. I lengthened the torso from the waistband. Gave myself and inch of ease at the waist. Sketched out a curved hem. Hey presto a top patrern is born.

Now it became pretty clear even before the zip was in this top that it was going to become a project I really heart so I found the perfect buttons to match!
The photos were taken by my awsome yoga_bao friend Ange. She has a great eye for detail and filters.
