Its a knitter's worst nightmare... Even worse than running out of the correct dye lot of yarn....
Loosing a knitting project!!! This is what happened to me last week. Merry I was thinking of a holiday, lots of time to sit and knit, happily I took that precious project along. But my heart dropped when I realised I had left it behind on a cold lonely airport chair. Thankfully the wonderful staff at Hong Kong airport found it and let me know when I nervously skyped from abroard. Its now back in my possession, my precious! THANK YOU HKG AIRPORT!!!!!! So here is my first holiday picture in the lovely Liberty print fabric I showed you a few months ago. Actually I have worn this beauty a few times but got distracted by tea and cake and didn't get a good photo until now. The view is from the southern most tip of Taiwan at sunset. Just beautiful sea, textured rocks and the setting sun.
The pattern is Vintage Vogue V8789. I have made it up with a slightly less full skirt, using 2 skirt panels instead of 4. However this makes it much more wearable every day. Again I love a slash style neck. Although doing a v neck version is tempting. This pattern has the lovely fabric loops and buttons I have used in tops before. It was lovely to make a full dress of this pattern this time instead of just the top. The Liberty Tana Lawn is cool and crisp to wear perfect for this hot climate. However I have worn a slip with this dress as the cotton is quite sheer otherwise. I have used this fun linen for By Hand London's Anna Dress. The PDF patter was very easy to download and it came together so quickly.
I already have plans for making the V neck version in a shorter length. Well I really love how it turned out. You can never tell from a pattern perfectly. However this is what makes Revelry so good, seeing everyone else's version on real women's bodies. I have to be honest though, I am just not ready to use any more lace wool in my projects for a while.... Pom Pom And here is the link to my Revelry with all the in-depth details !
Its been a year on my knitting needles but my Sombra jumper from Pom Pom knitting is nearly finished.
I have made some alterations to suit the climate. I cant wait to do the finishing touches and show you all!! |
