So here is the next version of the ByHandLondon Anna dress. I really love this pattern and can see versions in so many different fabrics happening this year.
I was visiting the Jim Thomson House when this was taken. Its such an interesting look at some old Thai style houses and has a yummy little resturant on site too! Of course looking at the silk goodies is fun in their shop but I really want to use some of their ideas as inspiration. One thing happens for sure after every project. You have fabric odds and ends what you just dont know what to do with!
So what do I do with them..... 1) Anthing to small to be of use I put in a bag to use for soft toy or other stuffings. 2) Bigger pieces get cut up three ways. Firstly into 2.5inch strips. Then 5 inch squares. Then anything left 2.5 inch squares. One day you know I will make a huge scraps quilt or pack a bunch up for a quilt gift pack for a crafty friend!!! Chopped up Liberty hankie with the acorns and some moda candy squares. This is my fave quilt to date. Plus have you seen the cute owlie backing I found :)
Got some curtains sorted for the bedroom. Loving the aztec style prints that have hit the fabric markets this year. Cat-face is loving the new place to hide!
So I have been posting away for the month and just realised they have been floating away to no where land. After a reinstallation on my phone and battery pull things look like they are back on track... So what have you missed The house move went well and I made some curtains for the kitchen. We had a house warming tea party with many delicious cakes. I finished the baby blanket for my sister. The finished product is a secret so you will have to wait till she gives birth!
Now this really is a mini quilt. I wanted a go at making the star style quilt blocks without having to commit to making loads!
I used stash fabric. Rather girlie. More girlie than usual for me. I am struggling with the colours really. The light is awful here today, its raining cats and dogs so I can't even take this outdoors to get a better photo. Promise you better one soon! Fabric from Butterfly's in Cardiff
