Here's a Bunny Hat to go with a set of Peter Rabbit books for my Sister's little one. I don't have a bubba to model so the amigurumi turtle has got a little head warmer for the photoshoot.

I always love making up beaded necklaces. They look really effective and make up so quickly.
These are the blue chip beads I picked up at HeyBeads in Taipei. With them I have added some silver links and pearls from home in Hong Kong. Next time you go to Taipei have a look at this cute little shop HeyBeads. There are beautiful choices and some lovely cabochons too. Its cash only though which is a good thing, stop you going too crazy !!
One of my greatest joys this year was persuading my friend to learn to knit socks.
These are the second pair of socks she has ever made... And look fab! Plus she has already knitted out another 2 pairs for Christmas pressies. On fire! So I made it !
Managed a different style mini quilt each month this 2015 One year of mini quilts completed. Here we are back at December when it all started with a little pack of Moda squares. I must try and sort a combo photo of all of them for you guys :D So here's a happy smiling face ! I think he looks like he is just begging for a hug :) This week I battled with crochet. I don't find it easy and every time I pick up a project I have to relearn the basics again. I think also relearning the patten "code" also befuddles me. I think I must have ripped back the loops at least 9 times for the head.... after that the going got easier. Thank you youtube tutorials. This is all basic crochet, and the pattern is for a basic stitch only. So overall really recommended and little turtle comes out looking just like the pattern promises. I picked up the wool in Taiwan. I have chosen a cheap acrylic because acrylic seems to give a stiffer finished amigurumi and will hopefully stand up to the laundry better! The Yarn is perhaps not well known. I couldn't find it on ravelry. It is a thick double knit, not quite aran and not quite DK.
A little wire twisted mini ring for todays home make!
The agate flower is from a market in Seoul, South Korea. I love picking up little bits and bobs to use when I am away. I think of it as DIY souvenirs and of course much more special than some of the random things you see for tourists on holiday. I think this colour will also go well with my winter wardrobe. Hoping for earth tones this year greens and browns. I have just bought a pile of lovely wool for a crop jumper. Here it is....
Its Hong Kong neon lights themes. I got a pillowcase on sale from a trendy HK themed shop. Chopped one up... Some bright mini moda squares. This one is certainly one of my brightest quilts this month. On the tram and showing off my new mini silver chop sticks ear rings!
I absolutely adore them. The other ear has a little bowl with the character for luck in it. These little charms were found in Sham Sha Po ( where else to go for anything you need in HK ) and I instantly fell in love with them. They will probably be worn to every foodie event I go to now :) Planning a little Shashiko project with felt or leather... basically a plan the dots so I can join the dots with thread later.
Quite good fun really. I normally never plan stitching with anywhere near this much thought. I hope the finished project gets made so I can see what it looks like in the fabric flesh. |
