Its always a packed festive season. So little time for crafting. I always feel bad starting a Christmas project before December but really need to start in June to have all the time to make all the ideas in my head.

This year I bought a little pack of moda charm squares called “in fron the cold” by Kate Spain. It was vibrant greens and reds mixed in with beautiful greys, icy blues and snowy whites.

I have saved the grey and white patches or another project. I cut each square colourful square up into smaller squares and started by making 9 patch blocks.

These blocks were cut on the diagonal. The resulting triangles were restitched together after a little laying out.

I cheated by using a ready quilted backing..... Dont judge remember this was supposed to be a quick make. Then a little bias binding later has resulted in a lovely side table decoration. It may be upgraded to centerpiece if I find a good vase to put on it!
